Iron
County Drug Court
The
Iron County
Drug Court program is
a rural drug court. We have been in operation since May, 2003. This
program is unique in that this court is a Trial Court, one judge for all
courts. As such the populations served are adult circuit, adult district,
adult DUI, and family court. The Drug
Court does accept
co-occurring probationers. The court has served as high as 50
probationers. We have a team consisting of community treatment resources,
prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, judge, and assigned drug court officer,
and a drug court coordinator. We attempt to take a holistic approach in
pinpointing and addressing all aspects of probationer's life/problems effecting
the addiction. We have a four-phase, two track system with different tasks
addressed on each phase. All participants attend reviews bi-monthly or one
time per month depending on circumstances and track. All participants stay
engaged in treatment or aftercare services for the duration of their time in the
program. The program length is one year
minimum.
