Drug
Treatment
Court
The
Calhoun
County Drug Treatment Court is a
program that demonstrates a non-adversarial approach to ensure public safety,
while integrating substance abuse treatment within the criminal justice system.
The program serves adult male and female non-violent felony offenders with
substance abuse issues. The Drug Treatment Court offers a special track for
women with substance abuse issues, which addresses the specific needs of women
in the criminal justice system including the recovery process, prostitution and
sexual abuse to name a few. In addition, the
Drug
Court has
implemented the Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) program two days a week for male
and female tough offenders, which is a cognitive behavioral therapy that
addresses the criminal activity along with the substance abuse issues.
