Wayne County 3rd Circuit Juvenile Drug Court
STAND
(Supervised Treatment for Alcohol and Narcotic Dependency)

Wayne County Third Judicial Circuit Juvenile Drug Court (STAND) serves to eliminate a juvenile’s substance abuse and delinquent behavior by utilizing therapeutic jurisprudence and case management to develop, coordinate and monitor the juvenile’s treatment.  The program has one program coordinator, three drug court teams with an assigned jurist and probation officer, and 2 probation monitoring agents to service up to 60 participants.  Juveniles are referred in both pre- and post-adjudication status.  To be eligible the youth must be a Wayne County resident, 14-17 yrs old, have a consenting parent/guardian, have a positive drug screen, have no history of violence, and have a level II on the ADAD.  STAND uses a system of graduated incentives and sanctions to encourage progress toward compliance, negative drug screens, school attendance and no additional delinquency petitions.  When a juvenile successfully completes all requirements and graduates, the Court dismisses the original charge.
